In order to better carry out the teaching work of International Joint Audit Institute in the second semester and promote the teaching reform, from January 18th to 19th, the spring semester teachers and all the faculty and staff of International Joint Audit Institute, as well as leaders of relevant departments in NAU, went to Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University to carry out a research-oriented teaching training.
Professor Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, gave a special report on "Student-centred, Research-oriented, and Integrated Educational System in XJTLU".
Dean Zhang Xiaojun of Institute of Leadership and Education Advanced Development, XJTLU, gave a special report on “The Trend of University Teaching Innovation in the New Era: Taking Research-oriented Teaching as an Example”.
Students representatives Jiang Xiaotian and Chen Yunfan shared their research-oriented learning experience in XJTLU.
Doctor Wang Xiao of International Business School, XJTLU, shared a case of designing research-oriented teaching, focusing on “Innovation of Teaching Innovation and Entrepreneurship Degree Courses”.
Doctor Jiang Yue of International Business School, XJTLU, shared a case of designing research-oriented teaching, focusing on “Teaching Practice Based on Economics Courses”.
Doctor Zhang Jie of International Business School, XJTLU, introduced “Curriculum Design Based on Formative Evaluation”.
Visitors from NAU also visited the library, museum and International Business School of XJTLU, learning about the diverse formal and informal learning environment.
The last project of the training was a research-oriented teaching design practice, which was carried out in the form of workshops. The visitors from NAU were divided into 6 groups, applying research-oriented teaching concepts to design a course.
In the end, Dean Zhang Xiaojun of Institute of Leadership and Education Advanced Development, XJTLU, conferred certificate of completion to all visitors from NAU. Deputy Dean Wen hsiu Chang of International Joint Audit Institute, NAU, summarized this omni-covering training, and encouraged the teachers to finish the revision of curriculum. Dean Li Min of International Joint Audit Institute, NAU, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to XJTLU, and hoped all the teachers can truly designed student-centred and ability-oriented curriculum according to the requirements of research-oriented teaching.
